Adamax is an experimental nootropic compound built on the backbone of Semax — the synthetic ACTH(4-10)-derived seven-residue sequence (Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro) developed from adrenocorticotropic-hormone fragment research. Two modifications distinguish it from the parent: N-terminal acetylation and a C-terminal adamantane (diamondoid) group. Both increase lipophilicity and resistance to enzymatic degradation, and the bulky adamantane moiety is intended to improve blood-brain-barrier permeability and extend the analogue's effective duration relative to native Semax. Reconstitution

Reconstitution practice for Semax-class peptides in research typically uses bacteriostatic water to yield a defined mg/mL stock, with further dilution into the assay buffer or culture medium per protocol. The adamantane group makes the analogue more lipophilic than native Semax, so low-binding polypropylene is the conventional storage choice to limit surface adsorption.
Published protocols
Published protocols describe the parent peptide Semax rather than the adamantane analogue: rodent CNS studies have administered Semax intranasally or by injection across a range of microgram-per-kilogram doses when probing BDNF/TrkB expression and neuroprotection (see the cited Dolotov and Filippenkov work). No standardised research-protocol dose has been established for Adamax specifically.
Half-life
Native Semax is cleared rapidly — its unmodified heptapeptide backbone is degraded within minutes by peptidases, which is why intranasal dosing is common in Semax research. The N-acetylation and C-terminal adamantane modifications in Adamax are specifically intended to slow enzymatic degradation and extend the effective half-life relative to native Semax; a formally measured pharmacokinetic half-life for the analogue is not published.
Post-reconstitution stability
As a short lyophilised peptide, reconstituted material is conventionally used within ~30 days at 2–8 °C protected from light and stored in low-binding polypropylene. Repeated freeze-thaw is avoided by aliquoting before freezing.
